Dara,

Thank you for your comments. In my view most atheists do not have a problem with religion as long as it is not imposed upon them and as long as it does not affect them. It really does not make sense to hate something we believe does not exist.

I am glad to hear you are happy and at peace with your beliefs :)

By the way, I would recommend http://richarddawkins.net forums if you are interested in religion & atheism.

Interesting post. I'm certainly glad you seem to be a rationally thinking person; there have been some athiests I've encountered that have an outright hatred towards God (or gods) and even so far as to really hate me because I'm a believer. So, it's nice to see one that isn't like that (I know there are a lot that are like you, I suppose it's the negative ones that always leave the impression, sadly...)

Anyway, where you said you can prove evidence of your love for family, I believe you can do the same with God (at least in my experience). In retrospect, I can see parts of my life where God was with me and guided me through things. I've had personal experience with miracles (nothing like that of the Biblical times), especially with my grandfather as he was dying from cancer.

I don't really know how else to explain it...it's kind of like the love thing; I think it's like the wind (not a very original response but hey). I can feel His presence with me, just like the wind.

You may think it illogical, but that's okay--to me, my faith is part of my life; it's like breathing; I can't live without it.

Anyway, that's all--again I appreciate reading your thoughts on religion; they're interesting. Have a good day.
